Decorations

Reading: Exodus 25

Exposure: Read God's detailed insturctions for the decoration of the Tabernacle.  Go through your home and examine the Christmas decorations you have.  If you haven't decorated, take this time to decorate to celebrate this important season.

Exploration:  Why do you think God was so specific about how to decorate the temple?  What significance or symbolism do you think these decorations must have had?

Expression: Discuss the meaning and significance of your existing decorations.  How can your decorations speak to the focus you've placed on Christ?

Experience: Create a new ornament or decoration that can represent how you feel about your relationship with Jesus this year.

  1. I have am clueless on how to answer the exploration.
My decorations for the house this year are minimum. We've been out of town almost every weekend and some week days since Thanksgiving and that will continue until about the 3rd of January. So I made a construction paper Christmas tree and a card-stock Angel tree topper. I hanged up the stockings and some pitiful lights outside. Other than the kindergarten project tree (which I'm secretly a little proud of) which took my time and creativity, the decorations are a little ptitful. Which, as I've mentioned in my other post, are probably and unfortunately demonstrate my focus, or lack of, on Christ lately. I give Him a little time and effort and decide to be proud about that but then pretty pitiful in my other demonstrations. Though the chances are good my decorations won't change, I am trying to focus more on Jesus. I'm praying more, I'm participating in this Bible study, and I'm reading my Bible out loud to Alec more. It's an ongoing process...right?
