Here are the more recent pictures of the house. Several slideshows to make it quick and easy to see.
First, more framing. You can see the second story get started here.
I went back a few days later with Emily, Cathy, Ron, and Andy. We climbed the ladder to get to the second floor, but they had started the front peak! So it's starting to take a little shape here...
And a few days later, they started the front porch and I have stairs to get to the basement and the second story! I also threw in a few pics I took to get a brief glimpse of the fall foliage up here. Note: the best foliage pics are not taken while driving...
And another few days later: there are windows and doors! It's funny how the little things are so amazing sometimes :)
Next, my mom came up for a visit, so of course we had to go check out the house. You can see the side deck is on here, and a quick view of what the siding color will be, the bathtub, stairs out of the basement and the belko (sp?) doors. While Mom was here we went to the high school football game to witness Andy at work. I tried to get some decent pics of him working in front of the Mountain Center PT banner (where we both work), but my camera isn't the greatest from far away and through the misting rain. The next day Mom and I went for a mountain trek (yes, I'm aiding in her geocaching addiction...love you, Mom). 9.7 miles in about 9 hours if I remember correctly...long day but beautiful views. Andy met us on the other side and helped lead us out by our headlamp and flashlights since it had gotten dark by the end!
Back to the house: they put up insulation, but none on the interior walls. Andy thought it would be a good idea to insulate the interior for a bit of a sound barrier. So late at night we went and added insulation. Well, Andy added insulation as I tried to be moral support and watched him do an essentially one-man job by the light of his headlamp.
The next day they had the siding done on the back and one side. Most of the sheetrock was finished inside too. This is when it has started to really look like a house! Still hard to believe it's MY house...
And finally, you can see the siding on the front of the house also. Not the best pics, I'll try to get more next time I'm over in the daytime.
That's it for now! You're up to date! I'll try to be better about posting. I didn't get much done while Mom was here, but now I have no excuses. The flooring is supposed to be started this week...so stay tuned! Love you all,
Brienne
